Title: Systematic Reviews of Observational and Experimental Human Studies Related to Pork Intake and Type 2 Diabetes, Insulin-Resistance Syndrome or Its Components
نویسنده
چکیده
Industry Summary: The objective of this research was to perform a systematic review of the scientific literature related to pork intake and type 2 diabetes, insulin-resistance syndrome (metabolic syndrome) or its components. Using scientific literature search tools, studies that could be relevant to the topic were identified and reviewed for appropriateness in meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of eight relevant observational studies (studies where subjects are observed over time without intervention) and eight relevant intervention studies (human studies with experimental intervention, such as change in the diet) were identified. These studies provide important data to assess the association of pork intake with type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Conclusions, based on the review, are presented in the peer-reviewed publication: https://www.dovepress.com/systematic-review-of-clinical-studies-related-to-pork-intake-and-metab-peerreviewed-article-DMSO Contact: Nicolas Stettler, MD, MSCE, Exponent, Inc., [email protected], 202-772-4900

Systematic review of clinical studies related to pork intake and metabolic syndrome or its components
Globally, both the incidence of type 2 diabetes and the consumption of meat, in particular pork meat, have increased, concurrently. Processed meats have been associated with an increased risk for diabetes in observational studies. Therefore, it is important to understand the possible mechanisms of this association and the impact of meats from different species. The goal of this systematic revie...
متن کاملINVESTIGATION OF METHYLATION OF TNF-Α GENE PROMOTER IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES
Background: Type II diabetes is a chronic inflammatory condition that is associated with a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Tumor necrosis factor alpha or TNF-α as an adipocyte cytokine, which affects the signaling pathway of insulin, can contribute to insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes patients. Considering the importance of epigenetic changes in multifactorial diseases, th...
متن کاملThe Effect of Resistance Exercise on Blood Glucose, Insulin and Insulin resistance in Iranian Patients with Type II Diabetes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Objective: Resistance exercise is recommended as effective treatments for people with type 2 diabetes. However, the impact of this mode of exercise on blood glucose, insulin and insulin resistance in Iranian's type 2 diabetic patients is unclear. We conducted a systematic review of the literature for the effect of resistance exercise training on these clinical markers in Iranian's type 2 diabet...
متن کاملEffect of Fructose Intake on Metabolic Biomarkers in Adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Systematic Review of Randomized Clinical Trial Studies
Introduction: Fructose is a lipogenic monosaccharide affecting glucose homeostasis and other metabolic biomarkers; however, there is conflicting evidence in this regard. The current systematic review aimed to determine the effects of fructose on metabolic biomarkers in individuals with T2DM using randomized clinical trial studies. Materials and Methods: In this systematic review study, after se...
متن کاملDiabetes and Role of Exercise on its Control; A systematic Review
Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic diseases. It is estimated that its worldwide prevalence will reach to 21% up to 2050. In Iran the prevalence of diabetes is estimated to be about 14%. It divided in two categories: type 1 and type 2. Diabetes type 1 is due to absolute deficiency of insulin secretion, and type 2 characterised by resistances to insulin and its inadequate compensation...
